SERVICES OFFERED IN UX & BEHAVIOURAL PSYCHOLOGY

Behavioural Psychology Consulting

I help organisations understand the psychology driving how people negotiate, learn, decide, and buy — then apply that understanding to real commercial outcomes. Drawing on a background in UX design and applied psychology, I work across negotiation strategy, training design, and business strategy, identifying the cognitive biases, motivational patterns, and decision-making mechanisms already shaping your outcomes, whether you’re aware of them or not. The goal isn’t academic theory for its own sake. It’s spotting where confirmation bias is costing you in a negotiation, where training format is quietly failing your team, or where a pricing or retention strategy is leaning on the wrong psychological lever — and fixing it.

User Experience Consulting

With over fifteen years’ experience designing digital products, I help teams build interfaces that work with how people actually think. This covers the full range of UX practice — research, information architecture, interaction design, accessibility, and usability testing — grounded throughout in the psychology of attention, memory, and decision-making that determines whether a design genuinely serves its users or simply looks like it should. The result is products that are easier to use, easier to learn, and more likely to keep the people who try them.

Product Design & Strategy Consulting

Beyond individual screens and flows, I help businesses think through the bigger picture — how product decisions, pricing structures, and growth strategy actually land with the people meant to use them. This means applying the same psychological grounding behind my UX and behavioural psychology work to commercial strategy itself: where a pricing tier is doing more or less work than it should, where retention is leaning on friction rather than genuine value, where a change is meeting resistance that has nothing to do with its merits. The aim is strategy that holds up not just on a spreadsheet, but against how people actually decide, adopt, and stay.

About Me

Eighteen years ago I started designing apps. Today I help businesses understand why people buy, learn, stay, and leave, and what to do about it.

In between, I’ve built and shaped products across five industries: consumer mobile, hotel booking, gaming, property, and language learning, working directly with CEOs and CPOs to turn business problems into products people actually use. Most consultants spend a career inside one industry and ask you to trust that their insight applies to yours. I’ve already watched the same psychological patterns, what makes someone trust a booking flow with their money, what makes someone stay subscribed to a loyalty scheme, what makes a learner actually retain a skill rather than just complete a lesson, play out identically across completely unrelated markets. I’m not theorising. I’m pattern-matching against things I’ve already seen work.

That instinct is backed by real rigour, not just experience. A background in biomedical science gave me an early grounding in evidence before I ever touched a wireframe, and a diploma in modern applied psychology has since put a formal framework around instincts I’d already been running on for years. I write publicly and at length on the psychology behind negotiation, training design, and business strategy, because I’d rather you read the thinking yourself than take my word for it.

What I offer isn’t three separate services bolted together. UX, behavioural psychology consulting, and product strategy are the same underlying skill, understanding why people actually do what they do, applied at three different altitudes: the single interaction, the individual decision, and the business as a whole. Hire me for one, and you get a read informed by all three.can help you design and develop the perfect app to meet your specific needs.
